The Road 03:09
Pull out of the driveway, put the car in drive Accelerate to 40 and kiss your town goodbye You're riding up the road There's nothing left for you here, there's nothing but the pain Of people always hating and you're always to blame You're riding up the road When in one world friends surround me And in the other trouble's found me It's so good to have you around me You're the best of everywhere You pass by all your neighbors in a town that grew up fast It's all about the future just forget about the past You're riding up the road Remember all the fun times, when you would pass through here? Glasses, fast food, martial arts, and friends that you now fear You're riding up the road When the right eye offended me Did cutting it out set me free? I guess only time will tell me If you were meant to leave Wyckoff, Mahwah, Ramsey, it seems they're all the same Starbucks, forests, fancy signs all clutter up your brain You're riding up the road I can't believe you just forgot to turn on Cherry Lane Darlington's just up ahead, your mind is filled with flames You're riding up the road And as I get closer to my goal I remember the freedom that they stole But I'll never let that take its toll On the man I am today. Pull into the parking lot, stand there all alone Look around and smile it's your home away from home You turn your back on the road.

Highway 49 03:46
Sirens ring out in the dead of night Cops show up to set all wrongs right The boy lay still, obviously dead The chief showed up and here's what he said, "There's gotta be a story, why this boy died, Out here tonight on Highway 49." Johnny was a junior at Westville High Got good grades and he never told a lie The only trouble was the crowd he ran in Like everybody else he tried to fit in All went well 'til he set his on eye On Jenny who lived off of Highway 49 When he finally got around to asking her out He acted all tough as if he knew how Jenny said yes, there was something in her eyes Johnny just smiled and paid it no mind He said, "Why don't you come with me and my guys, We're gonna score some on Highway 49 Now the boys had a taste for some serious drugs And a broken down building that housed what they loved So the boys got wasted, John and Jen made out Until they heard a voice screaming, "What's the noise about??" There was a big scramble then the world went blind And shots were fired on Highway 49 [ROCK!!] Jenny screamed in terror at the horrible mess Johnny's body on her, it bloodied up her dress The boys ran away to a faraway place No one saw the killer, not even his face But some say the sirens seemed quite well timed That terrible night out on Highway 49.
